Seventh day : Weston super Mare
The last day in Weston, the traditional paperchase/treasure hunt in teams. Relaxed day, we never plan visits as such on the last day. From experience the group is less receptive. For the treasure hunt teamwork was importent to get the answers quickly. Some groups managed better than others....
The teams were announced in the park by the bandstand. Sometimes to deep sighs. We had taken care to bring together pupils who did not normally work together. The quiz questions were about the town of Weston, its architecture and famous people associated with it (not many!); Of course the teams got on well and who asked locals for help were more effective, which was part of the game. We had arranged to met on the beach, giving us teachers time to buy the prizes. They all had to bring a stick of rock, the queen's head and a union jack (British flag) with the answers to qualify. Lunch on the beach, then games like beach rugby and relay races. A lot of huddling took place too (see photos) as it was very windy despite some sun. After that free time in Weston, then back home to the families. An early night after packing we hope as our coach driver wants to leave at 730 sharp to be sure not to miss our ferry. Tomorrow a brief stopover at Royal Windsor (including the chaging of the guard we hope) then home by around 9pm. Bonne nuit et à demain.
